I have a 1999 accord with 27000 miles on it. A problem has shown up with
the emissions light on the dash coming on. The car seems to be running a
bit rich and slightly rough/under powered. Any ideas what I need to do to
    rectify? Help appreciated

  2. Best thing would be to first find the malfunction code with a scan tool.

If it's rich, is the engine getting up to full operating temp? Check
thermostat and then the TW (coolant temp) on the end of the cylinder head
when the engine is hot - this is supposed to be checked with a scan tool
but when the engine is hot the resistance should be down to ~100 Ohms.
Beyond that there's the fuel pressure regulator and various other sensors.
Don't run your car for too long with the warning lamp on - destroys the
    catalytic converter.
