Usual Microsoft virus warning

    I installed Win XP on this PC 2 days ago, while waiting for my Linux PC to
    be fixed.

    Within a day I had a virus, eventhough I was only browsing the web and
    didn't download.

    You generally dont need one. All the major Linux distributions set up a
    default firewall.

    There are linux security vulnerabiulities - see http://linuxsecurity.org/
