I have a 2004 Civic Coupe that has about 500 miles on it.Manual
transmission. Ive had it about 2 weeks. Unfortunately with the recent
rains in my area I have noticed an annoying problem. Every time the
windshield wiper makes its stroke the brake pedal makes a sharp
vibration. This occurs only at the begining of the stroke and not
during the stroke. It is only noticeable when stopped at a light with
your foot on the pedal.Has anyone else experienced this? Could this be
happening on all 2004 Civics? And could it possibly be fixed?

    Thanks

  2. What a bazaar interaction. Could it be that the load of the wiper motor
(which is highest when it first starts) is interfering with the AS? If you
don't have SA, I have no idea.

See if they share a fuse (I suspect they do not). See if they have a
grounding point in common (could be), and make sure it's tight and free of
    paint.

Lastly, your battery could have too high internal resistance, causing the
12V bus to sag when the wipers kick on. You should be able to reproduce the
problem by turning on another high-drain accessory in a noisy way - try
holding the brakes and then flicking the high beams on with one hand, and
hitting the horn with the other.

Of course, your car is new and this could be presented as a safety issue, so
I'm sure if you pressed hard enough, you can get the dealer to spend quite a
bit of energy trying to diagnose it for you. Heck, it might (already) be a
    known issue.

An interesting problem. Post back with what you find and good luck,

I believe that it's the vibration of the working motor travelling
through the firewall which results in the vibration of other
components in the car like the brake pedal. I have the same experience
in my 2002 Civic. I think that it has to do with the "Tin Can" design
of cars. As a result the cars are more shock absorbent to major
crashes but the same time produce more Ding, Tick, Click and Clang
    noises.
