Vtec solenoid

    I have a 2003 Honda Accord 6-cyl. I was told that my "Vtec solenoid" is
    leaking, and I was wondering what that is, and what kind of problems that
    having one that is "leaking" can cause...

    common problem. all it means is that you lose a little oil and that you
    get a dirty engine. not a big deal unless the leak gets bigger. other
    than that, the cure is replacement.

    Probably just an o-ring for the solenoid near the oil filter (?).
    There is also a screened filter on the oil filter mount to the pump
    housing. It this covered under powertrain warranty? Are you out of the
    5year/60K mile powertrain warranty?
