I may be moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in a few weeks. I currently have a 1988 Honda Civic, and I am also considering buying a new Honda Accord DX (with air conditioning and an automatic transmission) within a few months after I get there. I hope that the East Iowans in this group can help me. My questions: 1. Which independent repair shops are the best? And which ones do I need to avoid? 2. At which dealers am I most likely to get what I'm looking for at a reasonable price? I've heard that the DX model of the Accord is much rarer than the much more expensive LX and EX versions, but I am open to placing a special order. The reason I'm interested in the Accord and not the Civic is that ABS is standard on all Accords but is only available in the Civic EX, which costs as much as an Accord DX. In my opinion, the Accord DX is a better value. 3. Which dealers have a good repair department, and which ones should I avoid? Please respond here in the newsgroup, as I don't have deja.com email access. Also, I want to be able to search this forum later to read your responses.
