Last fall I waxed my car with Raindance paste wax. I figure its time to wax
the car again, but Raindance is very hard to find in stores where I live.
However, I can easily get Mothers Premium Carnauba wax which I've heard is
highly recommended. Since water still beads on much of my car, I have to
assume that there is still some Raindance on it. It just doesn't feel silky
to the touch anymore which is why I'd like to wax again. My question is: is
it OK to mix waxes with Mother's over the Raindance or should I strip the
Raindance and rewax with Mother's and stick with one brand from then on?
    Does it matter?

There are a few reasons why a surface won't feel smooth anymore:

    1) The slickness of the wax has worn off, but the wax is still there.
In this case, go ahead and put the Mothers wax directly on.

    2) The wax has mostly worn off

    3) There are little bits of contaminants embedded in your paint. In
this case, you should use a "paint cleaner" (Like Mothers pre-cleaner)
or a detailing clay (Mothers sells that also) to clean that off. Then
    rewax.

To answer your question, it is ok to mix carnauba waxes.
