Does somebody know why honda Prelude is not in production any longer? Is
there any successor planned in near future? Does anybody know?

Honda basically priced themselves out of the market. Although
the prelude was an AWESOME car, it was much more expensive than what
the market considered it to be the competitors, ie the celica, and
    (shudder) the tiburon, etc.

So instead, Honda focussed on its acura lineup, ie the RSX, RL, and TSX.

If I remember correctly, i did hear that they would bring it back
in about 5 years or so, but I don't have any data to back
that up. It would also depend on the market...

  3. Because it was an ugly ass car. Honda sold less than 20,000 units in its final
    two year.

Price wasn't really an issue because I recall dealers selling them as low as
    $19K.

I think the biggest reason was the Accord coupe. When it was redesigned in '98,
it was more appealing to the 'Lude crowd more than the Lude itself.

The Accord coupe is a compromise and an attempt to placate the prelude
crowd with a few cheap design changes. The truth is, demand for sport
car like sedans has waned resulting from punitive treatment from the
insurance industry, and the hot demand for SUVs and trucks. Even the
Camero and Firebird can't stay in production. Honda has concentrated its
energy on SUVs and who knows, maybe a truck in in the future. The public
is not willing to pay big money for a muscle sedans anymore. Honda still
makes a hot 2 seater for the empty nester crowd.

Wrong. The Accord coupe sales increased exponentially in the late 90's while
    Prelude sales declined.

How do you explain the success of the Mustang then?

    Honda has concentrated its
SUV was the #1 seller even back in the 90s when sports cars were still in
    demand.

The reason Prelude failed was the shitty design.

That's because only people with mullets drive Camaros and Firebirds.
    That trend has largely disappeared.
