I don't know, but it looks like that prelude has more pounds per horse power
which possibly could make it a slower car. but there are other things to
consider such as the shape and size of the power band and how well the
gearing lets you take advantage of it.

In 2000, that is using 3042lbs and 200hp for the prelude and 2672lbs and
    180hp for the integera.

also depends on what you call faster, as in top speed, off the line, or 1/4
    mile

  4. Depends on what you consider "faster", i.e. drag racing or road course
times Both are quick off the line, the Prelude has more torque and
horsepower, but the Integra has less weight and a better power too weight
ratio 14.8 vs. 15.2. The Prelude might have an advantage on a road course /
autocross because of it's Torque transfer system acting as a limited slip
differential. I don't know if the GSR had a limited slip.

I have another "Urban Myth" to run past the group. I heard years ago
that, upon starting the car, it's better to shift to Drive before
Reverse. This relieves pressure on the transmission and prolongs the
    life of the trans.

    True?

I prefer to shift into neutral before placing the vehicle in any gear.

    gbsmith,

You didn't explain whether you're talking about automatic or manual
transmissions, but the fact is, manual transmissions will often shift
into reverse more quietly / easier because slipping it into a forward
gear first will cause the synchro cone to stop the gears from spinning.
    Then reverse comes easy.

If the car is a beater, with a clutch that doesn't disengage completely,
this may be the ONLY way to get the sucker to go into reverse without
shutting off the engine, or letting the vehicle roll backwards until the
    gears match speed.

This is an old myth that stems from older (much) 3 on the tree shifters.
Many of them had linkages that would hang if you weren't careful (I've had a
    few of 'em).

Going from 1st to 2nd was the worst in the 60's Fords.

I don't know how many times I was on the side of the raod manual resetting
the linkage from under the car. I could do it without looking after awhile
    (66 for fairlane 500 289/ w 3 on the tree...)
