Where is the transmission fill level bolt on a
98 Civic manual? A picture is worth several
    million words.

It is difficult to find for two reasons. First, its up and behind the
drive shaft. Second, it's behind the inside lower control linkage
bushing mounting. If you've been able to find the drain hole; round
bold with 3/8" square drive hole, you can find the fill hole. It's a
19mm hex bolt diagonally across the axis of the drive shaft from the
    drain bolt.
If your engine is clean and you have good light, you can see it from the
top, but it's MUCH easier to get under and look for it from just behind
the drive shaft centerline. My shop manual doesn't have a very good
picture either. Let me know if you still have trouble.
