Where is the Civic's oil filter?

I have Honda Civic LX, and I had my oil changed today. The clerk lady told
me that the oil filter was also changed, but I did not see them change the
oil filter. She said that the oil filter is underneath the car, and they
replaced it when they drained the oil. Does that sound right? I thought
that the oil filter is accessed thruogh the hood.

Nope. It's on the rear of the engine, under the intake. You "might" be
able to see part of it from under the hood

So, you think the oil filter was actually changed,
and that the clerk lady was telling me the truth,...

Just to back up Bill: Yes, it's very common for the oil filter to be most or
only accessible from beneath the car.

It's this way for my 1991 Honda Civic LX.
