    Hello,

I am was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the Tiburon GT vs the Civic
Si coupe. I owned civic ex's up to 2002, but never drove the si. I also
drove the Tiburon 2005 (non gt model). I found the Civic ex's to be good
cars in general and the Tiburon to have a throaty exhaust, have good
cornering in curves and decent pickup, but braking, road feel and
driveability were somewhat lacking. I found the seat position of the Tiburon
to be a little too low and not as "ready" to offer the control needed for
hard driving. The Tiburon was an automatic transmission.

Would anyone have any comments about the Tiburon (auto or manual) vs the
Civic Si as far as driveability, cornering, pickup, braking and general
    factors?

    Thanks,
    Al

Well actually the Tiburon I drove was a 2005 with 17" wheels and the spoiler
and it was pretty decent. Throaty and good in the curves. It had the
sequential sport shifter which I wish Honda would put in the civic or
accord, for us people who like manuals, but not all the time and can't
afford to have two cars. I haven't really driven any other Hyundai's so I
can't really say that ALL Hyundai's are crap. The only other one I drove was
a 1994 Excel and it was like driving a tank because it had NO power
    steering!

Still I tend to like Honda's better personally. I am still at the level
where I would be apprehensive about buying a new Hyundai, because I don't
know what the reliability would be like. I know with Hondas you can pretty
much rely on them all the time, except for normal wear and tear they are
    good cars.

I have a RSX, similar to Si. It is a pretty nice car if you don't mind the
bumpy ride. The handling and steering are top-notch. The quality is much
    better than Hyundai.

Indeed, it is. It is the sound of the dollars being ripped from my
    wallet at the pump... ;-)

well, outside of anything else; due to the very low depreciation rate
of Hondas, if you got the bucks up front, it ends up being less of a
waste of money than most other car brands, including hyundai. a friend
of mine worked out a few years ago (didn't bother to check, myself)
that it paid better to buy a honda than to buy a cheaper subaru and
    invest the difference.
