Eric, did you kinda pick up on that "elitist" attitude from him?

Amazing how he would look at you and think to himself that his car would
suit your needs better. And doing this without even know what others
    needs are?

    Ya think?
    Left-wing "logic".

"Anti-Americanism is ubiquitous, a direct consequence
of America doing her duty, the resentment of followers,
not leaders. To be sure, anti-Americanism is an ignoble
and irrational emotion. Like anti-Semitism, which in
some ways it has replaced, it is impervious to facts or
    logic." - Paul Johnson

I've also seen many passenger cars on the roofs. It really depends on the
    drivers.

Ask yourself this: When a drunk driver runs a red light and t-bones your
vehicle, would you rather be in a car or an SUV? This happens quite often in
the northeast, particularly in the big cities.

I used to drive cars, then I upgraded to an SUV two years ago. My only regret
is that I didn't buy an SUV sooner.

Sure, an AWD sports car will do fine in two inches of snow. Let's see how it
do with the two-feet snow bank in front of driveway, courtesy of the snow-plow
crew. How about in a blizzard?

Sure, the SUVs are more expensive compared to cars in the same class. People
should buy what they can afford and not over-extending themselves.

Upgrade? Is that what you call a vehicle that is slower, less maneuverable,
has less braking, and based on a pickup? OK, sure, that's an upgrade. Please
read http://poseur.4x4.org/ before jumping on that bandwagon. I'm sure your
wonderful SUV is better than a Ford Taurus, but what isn't? You are the same
type of person that buys a Crown Vic or Grand Marquis when you retire.
Typical middle class moron...Hope your ex-wife, new wife, and 1.5 kids are
    doing great...

not every has a need to impress the world. if performance is your nack. then
get a real sportscar and join a racing club. i did. it's fun. there's no
need for suv's to stop on a dime, neither do cars. but some people are sold
on the fact that hot rod performance rules the road. it doesn't. the all
    mighty dollar does.

i also race motorcycles. it's cheaper than cars and much faster. i do have a
large family and i can afford a corvette. but driving a suburban is more
comfortable. my very first car was a '80 vette for my 16th b-day in high
    school.

what kind of car do you drive? i can show you other similarly priced cars
that has better performance. or even less expensive cars that are hot rod'd
    to out perform your ride.

it really doesn't matter what someone drives. who cares? the only one that
needs to be impressed is yourself. in my case, family comes first, then my
    toys in the weekends.

  12. Why do you have to be offensive to someone who may not share your view on
    vehicles or lifestyle?

Are you perhaps envious of his lifestyle?

Please don't let the fact that you are driving a big SUV lead you to
think you are a good driver. My sister in law thinks her Expedition
makes her immune to flood and snow and ice. One day soon, she'll rely on
her machine instead of her skill, and the thing will flip over seven
times and bite her in the ass. bob

SUV's are designed to go off road. ;)

SUV's are also designed to deal with foul weather conditions where traction
is poor and to be driven with constraint under those conditions. People
don't realize how often they over drive the capabilities of their equipment
for the conditions at hand. It's very similar to ABS....people over-rely on
that technology to do what it wasn't really designed to do.
